"Checkmate: One Albania supports the first chess championship organized by the Hungarian Embassy in Albania."

As part of its commitment to fostering cultural exchange between Albania and Hungary, One Albania sponsored the inaugural chess championship, organized and hosted by the Hungarian Embassy in Albania; a collaboration between the Albanian and Hungarian Chess Federations.

The championship revolved around a chess tournament designed for children aged 7-14.

The presence of the Deputy Minister of Education and Sports, Endrit Hoxha and the Head of the Hungarian Diplomatic Mission, Dr. Ádám Lovassy emphasized the importance of the event and the cooperation between the Hungarian and Albanian authorities.

Enthusiastic about the activity, Dr. Ádám Lovassy, Head of the Diplomatic Mission, shared information on the genesis of this championship, saying: "Last year, we launched the first Hungarian cultural week with the Ministry of Culture, and the organized event "Chess and Jazz" witnessed a fascinating combination of Hungarian jazz and chess tunes. This event pushed us to delve deeper into the promotion of chess among Albanian children. Thus, the idea of organizing a chess tournament for children aged 7-14 took shape."

Echoing the cooperation, Endrit Hoxha, Deputy Minister of Education and Sports, praised the initiative as a beautiful effort that brings happiness to children and encourages their motivation. "I am grateful for such events that bring joy to the children and perhaps ignite their motivation. I am sincerely satisfied", said Deputy Minister Hoxha.

The championship not only provided a platform for young chess enthusiasts to showcase their skills but also served as a testament to the friendly and cordial ties between the two countries.

One Albania aims to continuously support such initiatives, as valuable exchanges between the two nations.
